<p>At the <a href="http://www.svpma.org" title="SVPMA">SVPMA</a> December meeting at the <a href="http://www.computerhistory.org" title="Computer History Museum">Computer History Museum</a>, <a href="http://www.tcg-advisors.com/who/moore.htm">Geoffrey More</a> (<a href="http://www.amazon.com/Crossing-Chasm-Geoffrey-Moore/dp/0060517123/sr=8-1/qid=1165754290/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-2324124-3138500?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books"><em>Crossing the Chasm</em></a>, etc) introduced the themes and frameworks from his latest book, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Dealing-Darwin-Companies-Innovate-Evolution/dp/B000FZDKU2/sr=1-1/qid=1165754372/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-2324124-3138500?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books"><em>Dealing with Darwin</em></a>. Much of the discussion focused on Moore&#8217;s framework and theory for identifying and &quot;recycling&quot; talent in an organization. Instead of a 10-year or less temporary job, Moore argued that employees should be permanent, reusing and honing their individual talents instead of following the life-cycle of their products.</p>
<p>While a novel concept, it seemed to be a little much too &quot;green.&quot; In fact, during Q&amp;A, Moore was asked if eco-friendly green was a long-term competitive differentiator.&nbsp; Moore&#8217;s answer was &quot;no.&quot;&nbsp; Maybe the question was less about <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_car" title="Hybrid cars @ Wikipedia">hybrids</a> and <a href="http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com" title="Whole Foods Market">Whole Foods Market</a> and more about his book.</p>
